Pyke & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that James Balen and Herman Moncure have been admitted as partners, effective January 1, 2026. In recognition ofthis milestone, the firm will be known going forward as Pyke Balen & Moncure, P.C. consisting of six attorneys, four legal assistants, and two support staff, with continued growth anticipated.

James Balen will head the firm’s Probate and Guardianship practice. Since clerking for the Hon. Ingrid M. Warren, Judge of Probate Court No. 2, James has has focused extensively on court-related estate matters, ranging from routine administrations to highly contested proceedings. He has handled and supervised hundreds of probate and heirship matters, as well as numerous guardianships, many of which were disputed.
Herman Moncure will head the firm’s Estate Planning practice, the role he as effectively managed for several years. Herman’s commitment to estate planning began as a law student helping elder clients with their planning needs. He brings years of business experience to his law practice and looks forward to being a continued resource for the firm’s clients.
David Pyke continues as the firm’s managing partner, providing leadership and guidance to James, Herman, and the entire firm from his almost four decades of law experience.
